Add Depth of Field
This Photoshop effect will come in handy when you want to make an object or person stand out in a photo. It is a quick method of ensuring that the photo viewer focuses on a part of a photo. Here follow the required Photoshop steps and an example.
- Use the pen tool or lasso tool to create a selection of the part of the photo you want to isolate.
- Use Select – Invert to invert the selection. Now you have selected everything except for the part you want to isolate.
- Add some blurring to the current selection. Apply blurring with care, keep in mind that you still want the viewer to see objects and persons in the background, to understand the context of the photo.
Example:
- This is the original photo of the rowing boat.
